2014 is the fourth season for former All-Patriot League selection Ian Law '06 on Coach Kinney's staff. Law works with the infielders and the hitting corps while also serving as the program's recruiting coordinator.
Prior to his return to College Hill, Law served as an assistant coach at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. for two seasons alongside former Lafayette assistant and current Moravian head coach Paul Engelhardt. In 2010, Moravian advanced to the NCAA Tournament, the first appearance in program history, and the program's coaching staff was named the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after a 26-15 mark.
Law was a four-year member of the Lafayette baseball program (2002-06) when he accumulated some impressive career numbers. He hit for a .333 career average and ranks fifth in career doubles (36), eighth in hits (178), eighth in total bases (254), 11th in runs scored (122), and 16th in games played (254).
Law garnered All-Patriot League First-Team honors at shortstop in 2006 after hitting at a .340 clip over 50 games. He scored 54 runs and drove in 32 to go along with 15 doubles on his way to team MVP honors. In his junior season of 2005, Law managed a career-best .369 average while driving in 32 and connecting for 14 doubles. He collected All-Patriot League Second-Team laurels, team MVP honors and was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Team.
After graduating with a degree in Economics and Business in 2006, Law played professional baseball with the Atlantic City Surf near his hometown of Linwood, N.J.
