Pena Earns Second Straight Weekly Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League tabbed senior thrower Rachel Pena as its Female Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, for the second consecutive week. Pena holds the top spot in the Patriot League in the hammer throw by 24 feet.
The five-time outdoor honoree finished second at the Larry Ellis Invitational to the top thrower in the nation with a 62.99-meter (206’ 8”) mark in the hammer throw. The throw broke her personal record by six feet, and her toss ranks 11th in the nation.
Pena and the rest of the Leopards look for strong finishes as the regular season comes to a close this weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia Thursday through Saturday and the Lehigh Games this Saturday in Bethlehem.
