Entering the possible last week of volleyball, the feeling is bittersweet. It's unfortunate that our losses have placed us in such close reach to the Patriot League Tournament. The hope is not lost; however, we have made the road there very challenging.
With our home victory against Bucknell this past weekend we may have potentially knocked them out of the tournament, which is always good news! In regards to our game against Bucknell, it was our last home weekend. We had a tough match against Colgate Friday night and took them to four games. We came out strong at the beginning, catching them on their heals and were able to take the first game. Colgate, a very powerful and diverse team, came out fighting and took the next three games.
Though this was a disappointment, we didn't let it linger in our minds very long. Saturday was an important day for us. Not only were we playing Bucknell at home, but it was our Senior Day, a day in which we honor our seniors and appreciate all that they have done for us. Cara, Ashton and Kari have truly displayed phenomenal leadership. They know exactly what to say and do to motivate the team and have remained very patient through all of the team's ups and downs this season. They are exceptional players and will be very missed next year. It was a great feeling winning for them!
This weekend we venture out to West Point to play Army and then move on to play Holy Cross on Saturday. We hope to come back with victories!! Go Leopards!!
