League Play Continues against Bucknell and Lehigh

- The Leopards hit the road for two short trips to Bucknell and Lehigh as they continue Patriot League play after splitting home contests against Holy Cross and Army this past weekend.


-In the 3-1 win over the Crusaders, the Maroon and White had an excellent offensive showing as three players ended the match with double digit kills. Christian Luhnow (13 k), Katrina Ruggiero (12 k), and Tori Smith (10 k) led the way for the Leopards. Smith ended the night with a double-double, adding 14 digs to her stat line/


- One of Lafayette’s strengths this season has been its performance at the service line. Sonia Musso and Julia Howard both rank within the top-5 in the Patriot League in aces per set. Musso sits second with a mark of 0.33, while Howard’s average of 0.29 is good for fifth. Carly Kutschke and Lexie Caraveo round out the top 10 in a tie for ninth as they each hold a per-set average of 0.26.


-The Maroon and White have received strong play from their setters this season, as Howard and freshman Jenna Bailey have both contributed to running the offense. Howard currently ranks sixth in the Patriot league with 6.35 assists per set. Bailey rounds out the top 10 as her 5.16 average is good for 10th.


-The Leopards are on the road again next weekend for a full slate of matches. They take on Navy next Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. Next Saturday Oct. 7, sees them make the quick jump over to D.C. to take on American at 4 p.m. Lafayette rounds out its weekend with a non-league bout against Coppin State on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m.
