EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette head volleyball coach Terri Dadio Campbell has announced the hiring of John Pursel as assistant women's volleyball coach for the 2009 season. Pursel, an Easton native, joins the Leopards after a successful collegiate career at Lebanon Valley College.

"I am excited to have J.T. join our volleyball coaching staff and Lafayette community," Campbell said. "He brings with him so much enthusiasm and a love of the game that will serve our team very well."

Pursel, who currently teaches at a middle school in the Easton School District, brings a great deal of playing experience and knowledge to College Hill. As a four-year starter at Lebanon Valley, Pursel served as captain in his final two seasons. He was also a student assistant for the Lebanon Valley women's volleyball team for two seasons and assisted the Totally Extreme Girl's Volleyball club team.

He spent three months coaching and practicing with Plastira Plaka Volleyball in Athens, Greece, and has also assisted at Easton Area High School. In addition, Pursel served as volleyball coach for the Easton Area Middle School boy's volleyball team for one year.

Pursel's main responsibilities will include court coaching, and contributing to the team offensive and defensive strategies. Pursel will also assist in film exchange and recruiting.
