Go Leopards!

Feb. 4, 2014

Lafayette Photo StoreEASTON, Pa. - Head coach Terri Dadio Campbell of the Lafayette volleyball team has selected rising seniors Katy Rooney and Michelle Woodworth and rising junior Lauren Pisauro as captains for the 2014 season.

Rooney was a force in the middle blocker position in 2013, leading the team in blocks with 71. She also contributed in the attack, finishing with 138 kills. Woodworth will not be able to continue her volleyball career on the court because of medical reasons, but she will shift to the sideline as a “Student-Assistant Coach”. Pisauro led the Leopards defensive unit recording a team-high 439 digs last season.

“Katy has stepped up her leadership role with the team dramatically over the last year.” Coach Campbell said. “She is a committed and emotionally engaged player who will strive to make us improve each day. As a very well respected member of our team for the past three years, Michelle is certainly deserving of the title ‘captain’. She will be instrumental in shaping our team during her senior year.”

“Lauren responded very well to increased demands on her this past season. Her consistency and drive to be her best both on the court and in the classroom are impressive. The three of them, together, will do an exceptional job leading our program.”
