Hamilton, N.Y. – Lafayette volleyball fell, 3-0, on the road to Colgate in Patriot League action on Saturday night. Colgate remained in a tie at the top of the Patriot League with a 10-1 record, while the Leopards moved to 1-10 in League play.

The Leopards were led Karissa Ciliento and Brianne Giangiobbe with five and four kills, respectively. Ciliento and Katy Rooney each had a pair of block assists, while Samantha Volk passed out 10 assists. Diane Seely had a match-high seven kills, and teammate Kaylee Fifer dished out 22 assists for the Raiders.

The Raiders ran out to a 6-0 lead in the first set and never looked back. Ciliento led the Leopards with a pair of kills and Volk and Rooney teamed up for a block, but Colgate took the opening game, 25-12.

Lafayette opened set two with a 6-5 lead on three kills from Giangiobbe, a kill from Kelly Flynn and a block from Ciliento and Flynn. Colgate went on a 6-0 run to take control of the game, 11-6. Kills from Rooney, Giangiobbe and Ciliento weren’t enough as the Raiders closed out set two, 25-12, to take a 2-0 lead.

The third game was all Colgate as the Raiders led from start to finish, taking the set, 25-8, and the match, 3-0. Ciliento had a pair of kills and Molly Belcher served an ace for the Leopards in the third frame.

The Maroon and White remain on the road for their next three matches, at Loyola Maryland on Nov.1, at American on Nov. 2 and at Bucknell on Nov. 9.
