Volleyball Tripped Up by Holy Cross 3-1

WORCESTER, Mass. (www.lafayette.edu) - Despite an improved team hitting percentage and more consistent play, the Lafayette volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Holy Cross on Friday night 30-27, 30-23, 22-30 and 30-19.
The Leopards, who dropped to 1-15 on the year and 0-3 in Patriot League play, stayed with the Crusaders (5-11, 1-2) in games one and two, and managed a game three win on the strength of a team .281 hitting percentage, but could only muster one game victory.
Sophomore Heidi Olichwier (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) notched 21 assists on the evening.
Holy Cross had three players finish with double-digit kills, all of which were the beneficiaries of Michelle Leahy's 51 assists.
Lafayette heads to West Point, N.Y. for a Saturday evening tilt with Patriot League opponent Army at 7 p.m.
