EASTON, Pa.- The Lafayette volleyball team fell in three straight sets to the Jaspers of Manhattan University Wednesday night, 25-14, 25-15, and 25-16.

Junior Karissa Ciliento led the Lafayette attack with seven kills, while senior Kaitlynn Zoller and sophomore Danielle Towslee added four apiece. Senior Sarah Frohnapfel handled the setting duties with 20 assists, while sophomore Michelle Woodworth recorded 13 digs defensively.

Manhattan jumped on the Leopards right away, leading 16-6 after the first 22 points. A kill from sophomore Katy Rooney stemmed the tide, but the Jaspers proved too much as they took home the first set, 25-14.

Lafayette held strong in the second as they came back from an early 10-4 deficit to within four points at 12-8 midway through. The Leopards fought until the Jaspers took the last five points after leading 20-15 to take the set 25-15.

The Jaspers stormed out to a 19-10 lead in the third, determined to end this match in three. A service ace by senior Fiorella Bellini gave the Leopards hope within five at 19-14, but Manhattan proved too much in the end, taking the third 25-16.

Lafayette returns to Kirby Sports Center on Friday to take on Bucknell at 7 p.m.
