Terri Dadio Campbell '92 enters her 16th season at the helm of the women's volleyball program in 2017. Campbell - the first full-time head coach in program history - has led the Leopards to their most successful seasons and has mentored some of the Patriot League's finest student-athletes.
The 2015 season was highlighted by a three-set win over archrival Lehigh on September 23, Lafayette’s first sweep in the series since 2007. The Leopards were also victorious in their first seven matches at Kirby Sports Center to begin the fall, earning the best home start in program history.
In 2009, the Leopards finished with a winning record of 14-13, including a season sweep of Patriot League opponent Holy Cross. That accomplishment came following the 2008 and 2007 seasons during which Lafayette combined for 24 victories. The 2006 campaign was another historic one, as the team reached the Patriot League Tournament for the first time in more than 10 years, finishing the fall with 18 victories. The Leopards finished 9-5 in conference play that year, falling to eventual champions American in the league semifinals.
Campbell took the reins in 2002 and, in her second season, she guided Lafayette to its first Patriot League win since 1997. The 2004 team ended its campaign with a 15-14 record, giving the program its first winning season in 10 years.
A former standout student-athlete for the Leopards, Campbell returned to College Hill after seven seasons as the head coach at Division III Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. Campbell compiled a 159-48 record (.768), culminating with the Generals' first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in her final season. During her tenure at Washington and Lee, Campbell's teams won five regular-season titles in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and four ODAC Tournament crowns.
Campbell was recognized by her peers as the ODAC Coach of the Year in 1995, 1997 and 1998. She was also selected as the Coach of the Year in the state of Virginia in both 1995 and 1998. While at Washington and Lee, Campbell also served as the Generals' women's basketball coach and a physical education professor.
Campbell has also patrolled the sidelines as a Division I basketball coach, serving as an assistant at Princeton in the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons. Previously, she was on the women's basketball coaching staff at The College of New Jersey, where she also earned her master's degree in Special Education.
A Bethlehem native, Campbell began her volleyball career at Freedom High School. She turned her attention to basketball at Lafayette, where she was a three-time All-Patriot League honoree and currently ranks seventh all-time in scoring with 1,283 career points. Campbell served as an assistant volleyball coach at Freedom in her final three seasons as a student-athlete on College Hill.
Campbell is an active member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the Keystone Region Volleyball Association (KRVA) and USA Volleyball.
Campbell and her husband, Shawn, reside in Bethlehem with their son, Casey, and daughter, Carly.
