Nixon Garners Second Team All-League Honor

EASTON, Pa. - Freshman Caroline Nixon of the Lafayette women's tennis team has been named to the Second Team All-Patriot League, as announced by the league office. Nixon played primarily at No. 1 singles in her first season on College Hill.

A native of Venetia, Pa., Nixon won four matches at No. 1 singles including at victory over Bucknell in a Patriot League match. The rookie was victorious in five singles matches this spring and also took victories in three doubles matches, including two wins at No. 1 doubles.

The Economics major earned three of her singles wins against Rider, Wagner and La Salle during the spring championship season and also won doubles matches against Rider and Wagner with partner Amanda Kusnierz. Her win against the Seahawks on March 2, helped Lafayette to a 6-1 triumph and was the first of her collegiate career.
