Leopards Kick-Off Season with a 6-1 Win at Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The women's tennis team opened its 2010 season by defeating NEC opponent Wagner, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon in Staten Island. Three Leopards (1-0) did not give up a single game to the Seahawks. At No. 2 singles, freshman Liza Blank defeated Joanna Ciavarella 6-0, 6-0. Classmate Lucy Bass and sophomore Kate Herman posted the same scores at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Teammates Allie Seranko and Alison Dally picked up a victory at No. 1 doubles, 8-2, while Blank and Austin Denesuk defeated Ciavarella and Sabrina DiLeo 8-1. The Leopards are back in action on Oct. 1 when Lafayette takes part in the St. Joseph's Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa.
