Leopards Drop a Pair over the Weekend

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette women’s tennis team suffered back-to-back defeats over the weekend against Navy and at Bucknell. The Leopards finished the regular season 4-9 overall and 0-5 in the Patriot League.

On Saturday, the Mids beat the Leopards, 7-0. At fourth singles, Liza Blank battled Logan Antill, but came away with a 6-1, 6-3 loss. Catherine Senopoulos fell to Darien Sears, 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.

On Sunday afternoon the Bison came away with a 6-1 win over the Leopards. Lafayette’s Caroline Nixon won the only point for the Leopards at first singles against Bucknell, beating Elena Vidrascu, 7-6, 6-3. Ally Simels and Alison Dally teamed up to win their third doubles match, 8-5. Nixon and Senopoulos fell in a close match to Vidrascu and Maria Cioffi at first doubles, 8-5.

The Leopards will travel to West Point, N.Y. on April 26 for the Patriot League Tournament.
