Women’s Tennis Upends Colgate for Historic Win
EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette women’s tennis team put together a historic victory at Sullivan Courts on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Colgate in Patriot League action by a 4-3 score.
The win for the Leopards was their first over Colgate in more than 20 years, last defeating the Raiders in the 1996-97 campaign, a 5-4 win in Easton. The victory marks the second in conference play for the Maroon and White this season, advancing their overall record to 9-11 and 2-5 in Patriot League action.
The doubles pairings of Snyder/Lesnick and Block/Conrad secured the doubles point for the Maroon and White, which served as the clinching marker, with singles split at three apiece. Grace Conrad won in the second spot, while Meredith Block and Alexa Cooke picked up victories at five and six.
