Women's Tennis Takes One Away from Colgate in 6-1 Loss

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Freshman Emily DeLuca denied Colgate the sweep with a 7-6, (7-5), 3-6, 10-6 tiebreaker victory in the final singles match of the afternoon. The women's tennis team falls to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference heading into tomorrow's match against Bucknell.
DeLuca paired with classmate Kristie Cavanagh at No. 3 doubles earlier in the day, losing it 8-2 to Stephanie Bender and Jen Marquit. The Raiders swept the double portion of the match starting with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 over juniors Ansley Scudder and Sarah Sykes. In second singles, junior Jacqui Bonder and Rohinsky were defeated 8-1.
The Leopards host Bucknell on Sunday for a 10 a.m. match. The men's team will begin competition at 1 p.m.
