Women's Tennis Falls at Lehigh

Bethlehem, Pa. – The Lafayette women’s tennis squad dropped a Patriot League match to Lehigh on Tuesday afternoon by a 6-1 final.

The Leopards’ lone singles win came from Tori Almeida, who knocked off Jill Sloand 3-6, 7-5, 10-3 at No. 5 singles. Caroline Nixon fell 6-2, 6-4 to Abby Farrell, while Cassidy Cruz took down Rocine Moschella by a 7-6 (7), 6-2 final score. At third singles, Jess Graham beat Jordyn Spellberg 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 and Jamie Campisi defeated Catherine Senopoulos 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. Ali Kaminetsky claimed the No. 6 contest 6-0, 6-2 over Amanda Kusnierz. In exhibition action, Gabby Montes overcame Nina Larraza 8-5.

The Leopards top doubles pair of Nixon and Senopoulos were victorious after Jenai Bilimoria and Farrell retired when they were trailing 2-1 in the first set. Taylor Hampshire and Cruz bested Moschella and Almeida 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Campisi and Graham conquered Gabby Montes and Liza Blank 8-1 in the third doubles match.

The Leopards are back in action on Friday when they host conference-foe Colgate at 1 p.m.
