EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette women’s tennis team defeated Rider in a nonleague contest Wednesday afternoon, 7-0, in Lawrenceville, N.J. The Leopards improved to 4-5 this spring.

Freshman Caroline Nixon notched a win at first singles, 6-2, 6-1, while sophomores Jordyn Spellberg and Amanda Kusnierz each earned victories at second and third singles respectively. Freshman Catherine Senopoulos had little trouble at fourth singles, winning 6-0, 6-1. Junior Lucy Bass won at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1, and classmate Liza Blank was victorious at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Lafayette took all three doubles matches to earn the point. Bass and Blank teamed up at second doubles to win, 8-1. Senopoulos and freshman Ally Simels took their third doubles match, 8-1, and at first doubles Nixon and Kusnierz fought for an 8-5 win.

Lafayette returns to the court on Monday April 8, when they visit Saint Joseph’s in Philadelphia.
