EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette freshman Alana Anzalone '04 was named Diver of the Week by both the Patriot League and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) this week for her two first-place finishes in the Bucknell-Lafayette dual meet on Jan. 13.

A native of Shavertown, Pa., Anzalone won the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 205.28, more than 32 points better than the second place finisher from Bucknell. She also beat our junior teammate Claire Kesicke by 11 points for the 1-meter crown with a mark of 184.50.

The freshman has swept the one- and three-meter diving events a total of six times this season, placing first in the two events against St. Peter's, Towson, Lehigh, Delaware, Rider and the Bison.

While Anzalone picked up Diver of the Week recognition, Heidi Borden of Army picked up Swimmer of the Week honors from the league and the ECAC.

The Lafayette women's swimming and diving team is back in action on Wednesday as it hosts Patriot League opponent Colgate in a dual meet at Ruef Natatorium. The Leopards currently have an overall record of 2-5 and a Patriot League mark of 0-2.
