Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to Lehigh, 147-96

Nov. 23, 2003

Lafayette's women's swimming and diving team dropped a 147-96 decision to Lehigh on Friday.

Freshman Liz Helwig (Basking Ridge, N.J./Madison) was a double-winner, taking the 200 IM in a school-record 2:09.91 and 100 freestyle in 53.66, while senior Alana Anzalone (Shavertown, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) captured both the one-meter (217.5) and three-meter (240.375) diving events. Helwig's time in the 100 free was the second-fastest all-time at Lafayette.

The Leopards had their best showing in the diving events. In addition to Anzalone's pair of firsts, Crissy MacDonald (Glendora, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) was second in both one-meter and three-meter, while Danielle Menard (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) took fourth in one-meter and Lis Edwards (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) fourth in the three-meter event.

Lafayette is now off until Jan. 15, when the Leopards travel to Colgate for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
