EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's women's swimming and diving team was edged out by Colgate on Wednesday at Ruef Natatorium, 114-126.

The Leopards (2-6, 0-3 Patriot League) earned 1-2-3 finishes in two events and two other freshmen won their respective events in the Patriot League meet. Liz Tutschek (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes), Leah Gruenke (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) and Meredith Smith (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) swept the first- through third-place finishes in the 50-freestyle while Gruenke, Jessica Howell O'Neill (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) and Erin Malone (Oreland, Pa./Springfield Township) finished 1-2-3 in the 100-freestyle.

The freshman class was well also represented with first place finishes by Maura Dailey (Oreland, Pa./Springfield Township) in the 200-free (2:01.29) and Carrie Abildgaard (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) in the 200-individual medley.

Colgate improves to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the league with the win.

Lafayette wraps up its regular season on Jan. 27 in a non-conference dual meet at Binghamton.
