Eight Take Place on Patriot League Softball Academic Honor Roll

Eight Lafayette softball players have earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status.

EASTON, Pa. - Eight Lafayette softball players have earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status following the spring semester.

Gwen Turner, Carly Feiro and Cody Kugler represent the graduating class of 2012 on the list of academic merit. Turner was an All-Patriot League Second-Team selection who led the team in hitting with a .359 average with 29 runs scored. The Economics & Business and Governement & Law double major posted a 3.43 grade-point average in her final semester while helping guide Lafayette to its first Patriot League Tournament appearance since 2009.

Feiro, who earned her degree in Biology, started 46 games her final season and 170 in her career. Kugler leaves with a degree in Economics and Business and a 3.48 GPA in the spring 2012 semester.

Jordan Parsons was the lone Lafayette junior to earn honor roll accolades. Recruited as an outfielder, Parsons made the successful transition from shortstop to second base for this season. She hit for a .259 clip and started all 54 games. Parsons registered a 3.80 GPA during the season while majoring in Government & Law.

Sophomore Amy Gebhardt was named Academic All-Patriot League in May and her honor roll status accompanies that award. Gebhardt started 51 games for Lafayette and maintained a 3.58 GPA in Biology. Fellow Bio major Rachael Trupp joins her with a matching GPA.

Alex Campanaro (3.93 in Psychology) and Caitlin Summers (3.77 in Mechanical Engineering major) represent the freshman class. Campanaro started 12 games in the circle.



To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester while participating in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
