EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette softball team begins post-season play on Thursday in the opening round of the double-elimination Patriot League Tournament. The fourth-seeded Leopards play top-seeded Lehigh on Thursday at noon at Lehigh's Kaufman Field.
Lafayette (13-38, 7-13) secured its first bid since 2009 to the four-team Patriot League Tournament, finishing two games ahead of fifth-place Bucknell for the final spot. If Lafayette loses to Lehigh (37-17, 18-2), the Leopards will play at 1:30 p.m. on Friday vs. the loser of the Army-Colgate game.
In the week leading up to the Patriot League Tournament, Lafayette had three players, senior catcher Stacey Dorn and senior leftfielder Gwen Turner and sophomore pitcher Melissa Robinson, named All-Patriot League on Tuesday while sophomore centerfielder Amy Gebhardt was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
