Three Softball Players Honored by the Patriot League

EASTON, Pa. - Three Lafayette softball players have earned Patriot League honors as freshman Brittany Paul collected All-Patriot League First-Team laurels and senior Jordan Parsons and junior Amy Gebhardt achieved Academic All-Patriot League status.

Paul, a lefty lead-off slap hitter who showed flashes of power, led the Leopards in hitting in her initial campaign on College Hill. She started all but one of Lafayette's 54 games, hitting for a .286 average with a team-high 46 hits. The Neuroscience major was second on the squad in runs scored and stolen bases.

Parsons was second on the team in hitting in 2013, with a .230 average, and led the team with nine extra-base hits in 51 games started. Parsons ranks 10th in career hits, third in career games played and fourth in career games started at Lafayette.

Academically, Parsons maintains a 3.69 cumulative GPA while majoring in Government and Law. Parsons is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection who plans to attend physician assistant school upon graduation.

Gebhardt, who played in 36 games in 2013, finished second on the team in hitting in Patriot League play with a .270 average. It's the outfielder's second turn on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, also named in 2012. A Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection, Gebhardt maintains a 3.38 cumulative GPA while majoring in Biology.
