EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Junior Lauren Belowich (Edison, N.J./J.P. Stevens) has been named the Patriot League Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 4.

Belowich won both of her starts for Lafayette last week as the Leopards defeated Rider, 2-1, and earned a 5-1 victory over Penn. She struck out five and didn't walk a batter, allowing 14 hits and just two runs in 13 innings of work. The game against Rider was called after six innings due to darkness.

The right-hander has three of Lafayette's five wins this season and lowered her earned run average from 3.59 to 2.96. Belowich set the school record for strikeouts in a season with 98 as a freshman.

Lafayette will resume its four-game series at Lehigh on Monday afternoon after waiting through two postponements following the severe weather over the weekend.
