This Weekend: Lafayette is scheduled to play five games in three days at the Georgetown District Classic and Coppin State Eagle Classic. Beginning action on Friday, the Leopards will play a doubleheader against Georgetown at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy at 1:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Lafayette will travel to Baltimore, Md. to face St. Bonaventure at 11 a.m. and Morgan State at 3 p.m. Lafayette wraps up its weekend on Sunday with Hartford at 9 a.m.

About Lafayette: The Leopards are 1-9 on the year, dropping all five games at the Hampton Classic last weekend. The team was competitive all weekend, losing three games by only one run.

Freshman outfielder Paige Grover continues to be impressive for the Maroon and White. Over the weekend she hit two home runs and collected four RBIs. She leads the team with a .310 batting average and has started every game in right field.

About Georgetown: The Hoyas have begun their season with a 3-11 mark, competing in the FGCU Kickoff Classic, the Gamecock Invitational and the Chanticleer Showdown in February. Senior outfielder Theresa Kane has been a staple in the lineup, leading the team with a.320 average with 16 hits. Sophomore pitcher Anna Brooks Pacha is 2-4 with a 3.52 ERA in six starts.

About St. Bonaventure: The Bonnies of the Atlantic 10 conference opened their season with a 0-6 clip after playing their first games last weekend in the Charleston Southern Invitational. Sophomore infielder Brooke Kane-Walker leads the team with a .308 average while senior second base Hailey Blencowe checks in at .263.

About Morgan State: The Bears enter with a 3-7 mark. Junior outfielder Damali Young has been a dominant presence in the lineup, hitting for a .533 batting average with six extra-base hits. Freshman infielder Gabriella Gorosave is second on the team with a .296 average and leads the Bear lineup with seven RBI.

About Hartford: Hartford comes into the weekend with a 2-3 mark, and like St. Bonaventure, opened its 2018 campaign with a slate of games in Charleston, S.C. (including a pair of one-run victories over the Bonnies). Freshman leftfielder Nicolette Barranger leads the team in hitting with a .444 mark while sophomore second base Madison Hilimire is a .385 hitter.

Coming Up: The Leopards return for their home opener on March 10, hosting Drexel. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for noon at Metzgar Fields.
