April 13, 2013
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Lafayette was held to two hits in Patriot League softball action at Bucknell on Saturday, losing game one 4-0 and game 2-0.
Bucknell pitcher Amanda Fazio faced the minimum in the first game, taking her perfect game into the top of the seventh before Brittany Paul singled to left field to break up the no-hit bid. The Leopards (8-27, 2-8) could not take advantage of their only baserunner of the game, as Paul was cut down trying to stretch her hit into a double.
The Bison (11-24, 4-6) scored two in the first and two in sixth in the 6-0 final. Kristen Zahn (2-for-2) hit a two-run home run in the opening frame and drove in Bucknell's third run of the game with a sac fly in the sixth.
