Leopards Open Play at Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Lafayette opened play in the Rebel Spring Games with losses to Indiana State and Bryant on Friday. Lafayette will play 10 games in the tournament.
In the opener, Indiana State scored seven runs in the fifth inning en route to an 8-0 win.
In the nightcap, Lafayette led Bryant 1-0 going into the seventh inning before Bryant eked out a 2-1 win.
The game slipped away from the Leopards in the seventh. Talia Zizza belted a solo homer to tie the game. Kristen Carter bunted her way on and advanced to third after a Lafayette throwing error. Regina Burdo scored her with a sac fly to centerfield for the 2-1 lead.
Melissa Robinson scattered five hits in the loss, surrendering on earned run over seven inning with no walks. Brittany Hart picked up the win for the Bulldogs.
Lafayette will play Temple and Detroit on Saturday.
