Ed Nelson
Position: Assistant Coach Experience: First Season

Ed Nelson is in his second season as assistant softball coach at Lafayette. Nelson has coached the game for 27 years, working in various capacities at different levels of softball from youth to high school.

An experienced softball clinician, Nelson organized the Upper Mount Bethel girls' softball program that began with 21 girls and has now expanded to more than 300 girls annually. He also worked as a PIAA umpire prior to coaching at the high school level.

Outside of softball, Nelson has worked in a management capacity for 34 years at United Telephone. He has also served his community, working as an elected supervisor for 20 years in Upper Mount Bethel, Pa.
