EASTON, Pa. – The postseason awards continued to roll in for Lafayette women’s soccer striker Jaclyn Giordano as she was one of 11 Patriot Leaguers to be named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the League announced Monday.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
“This year Jaclyn has become the true meaning of the phrase student-athlete,” head coach Mick Statham said. “She is as hard working in the classroom as she is on the training field, and this year she has been recognized for it.”
Giordano owns a 3.56 grade-point average as an Economics major and is coming off a 3.68 GPA in the spring semester. The Ridgefield, Conn. native is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection and was nominated for the Patriot League women’s soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
Earlier in the week Giordano was recognized for her play on the field when she garnered Third Team All-Patriot League accolades. Giordano led Lafayette in goals (5), points (12), game-winning goals (3) and shots during her junior campaign.
