EASTON, Pa. – Junior forward Jaclyn Giordano has been honored with a spot on the Patriot League’s Third Team, the conference announced Monday. Giordano led the Leopards in scoring this season with five goals, including three game-winners.
“I’m very happy for Jaclyn and think it's very well deserved,” head coach Mick Statham said of the recognition. “Her development this year as more of a complete player has been inspiring. She works very hard and is a wonderful presence in the locker room. I hope she can continue to build on a terrific junior year with an even better senior year.”
In Lafayette’s season finale at Loyola, the striker registered her first-ever multi-goal game to help the Leopards to a 3-3 draw. Her other three markers came a critical times for Statham’s team as she potted the game-clinchers in victories over NJIT, UMBC and Lehigh. The Economics major also chipped in a pair of assists this year and increased her career totals to seven goals, three assists and 17 points.
Giordano’s team-leading five tallies were tied for sixth in the Patriot League this season and were the most for a Lafayette junior since Caroline Tuttle ’08 netted five in the 2006 campaign.
