Jill Dozier Named First Team All-Patriot League
Nov. 1, 2012
EASTON, Pa. – Senior forward Jill Dozier has been honored as an All-Patriot League Women’s Soccer First Team performer following a senior season in which she scored nine goals and had two assists, the Patriot League announced Thursday.
“Jill has worked extremely hard over her career to become one of the premier strikers in the area,” head coach Mick Statham said. “The Patriot League is full of attacking talent and being awarded First Team by the coaches is the icing on the cake for a great individual season. I am thrilled for her and I know her teammates will be too.”
Dozier’s season was one of the best in recent memory for a Lafayette forward, and the most impressive statistically for one of Statham’s players. Her nine tallies were the most since Emily Myers ’03 netted 10 during the 2002 campaign and were fifth among Patriot League players this year. Dozier’s 20 points also ranked fifth in the conference.
For her career, the Fallston, Md. native finished with 18 goals and 41 points in 71 career matches. Her goal and point totals each are fifth in the Lafayette record books.
