Lafayette Women's Soccer Banquet

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team had their awards banquet on April 10th and honored many student-athletes for their achievements.
Sophomore Lauren Smedley was voted for the second year in a row by her fellow teammates as 2010's award of the Player's Player of the Year. The award is voted on solely by the players for the player they thought had the best year. Smedley was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team.
Senior Mackenzie Moore Moore received the fifth annual Barbra Lipkin Student-Athlete Award, an honor given for an athlete's accomplishments in the classroom and on the field. Moore will graduate with degrees in International Economics & Commerce and Spanish.
Senior Olivia Hawes was honored with the Leopard Award, given to a play who embodies a characteristic of what the coaching staff believes has represented the best of a Lafayette student-athlete.
Head coach Mick Statham also honored the senior class, who over four years played in over 320 games, combined for 21 Patriot League Academic Honor Rolls awards and will leave with 13 major/minors amongst them.

The squad is in the midst of their offseason training program. They look to open the 2011 season on August 30 at Oaks Stadium.
