Lafayette Women's Soccer Banquet
March 23, 2010
EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team had their awards banquet on March 7th and honored three key individuals with awards for their accomplishments. Junior defenseman Caitlin Kennedy received the fourth annual Barbara Lipkin Student-Athlete Award, an honor given to an athlete noted for her accomplishments in the classroom, as well as on the field. Junior forward Stephanie Bereday was awarded the Leopard Award by the coaches. The award is given annually to a scholar-athlete the staff believes has represented the best characteristics of a Lafayette student-athlete. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Smedley was voted on by her fellow teammates as this year's recipient of the Player's Player of the Year award, an accomplishment that recognizes the best individual season by a Leopard. The squad is in the midst of their offseason training program before competing in spring games later this semester.
