EASTON, Pa. - Head women's soccer coach Mick Statham has announced the addition of five newcomers to the Lafayette program as part of the Class of 2018. The incoming student-athletes will enroll for the upcoming fall semester and replace Lafayette's three graduating seniors.

Olivia Heitz (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais)

At Tamalpais: Played club soccer for MarinFC 96 Blue for four years...four-year starter for MarinFC and Tamalapais...captain of school soccer team...also was a member of the varsity cross country and basketball teams as a freshman...Honor Roll student all four years of high school...took Honors and AP classes since freshman year.

Why Lafayette? I wanted a smaller school with the academics to push me, the athletics to keep me passionate and the community to keep me thriving in whatever I will be interested. I found all that at Lafayette, a liberal arts school that included an engineering school, which provides so many opportunities not afforded at other liberal arts colleges. Lafayette is small enough that I can get to know my professors, a luxury I was bent on having, and also a school where I can play soccer. I can't wait to fly the six hours to Lafayette and lace up my boots and start my college experience.

Gabi Lassinger (Butler, Pa./Knoch)

At Knoch: Four-year starter and two-year captain...two-time All-Section and All-WPIAL selection...four-time All-County pick...named to Pittsburgh Post Gazette All-Star Team and All-WPIAL scoring leaders...led Knoch to four consecutive playoff appearances...member of Century United Football Club who were PaWest State Cup Champions, Region 1 Semi-Finalists, and Region 1 Colonial League Champions...four-year starter for PaWest ODP and Rider teams...two-year letter winner in track and field...National Honor Society vice president...Class Cabinet vice president..member of Chemistry and French clubs...Young Women for STEM award recipient.

Why Lafayette? I knew the first time I visited the campus that Lafayette College was the perfect place for me. It is an ideal balance between academics, athletics, size and location. I cannot wait to fulfill my academic and athletic goals at Lafayette College.

Reanna Leoni (Tallahassee, Fla./ Maclay School)

At Maclay School: Six-year varsity starter and team captain in 2013...named All-Big Bend First Team for five years...selected for Florida's All-State team for five years...received Class 2A Girls' Soccer Player of the Year award in 2011...Best Offensive player in 2010 and 2013...MVP in 2011 and 2012...member of the Ponte Vedra Storm club team that won Florida State Cup in 2011 and the Disney Showcase twice...member of the National Honor Society... part of the Spanish Honor Society... participates in peer tutoring...member of a community service group called Anchor Club.

Why Lafayette? I chose Lafayette because it offers the perfect mix of competitive Division I athletics and challenging academics. When I first visited Lafayette, I was drawn to the beautiful campus, the extracurricular activities and the friendly faculty and students. I knew after my last visit that Lafayette was the school for me because it offers amazing opportunities for the students. I'm so excited to be spending the next four years at such a wonderful school.

Kelly O'Brien (Trappe, Pa./Perkiomen Valley)

At Perkiomen Valley: Honorable mention for PAC-10 All-League Team as a junior...MVP of high school soccer team as a senior...member of the Rage Soccer Club who were Eastern PA State Cup semi-finalists in 2012 and 2013...took AP and Honors classes throughout high school...highest academic honors...AP Scholar.

Why Lafayette: I enjoyed the size and architecture of Lafayette's campus. The prestigious academics and Division I athletics are ideal for me and are another key reason I chose Lafayette.

Paige Thompson (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta)

At Alpharetta: Four-year starter...2011 Rookie of the Year...led team to consecutive state playoff appearances...consecutive scholar-athlete awards...played in Elite Clubs National League with Atlanta Fire United...went to the 2013 ECNL National Finals...member of Georgia ODP pool... 2011 TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 20 South Atlantic Region Players to Watch for 2014 Graduates...
