Easton, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team was not able to find the back of the net in the 90 minutes of play dropping 4-0 against Navy on Sunday afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Smedley had three saves in the game, and the Leopards took 14 shots. In the 21st minute of the game, Navy forward Kelsey Learned found the back corner of the net off a corner kick from Kate Herren. Lafayette had several scoring opportunities, the closest ones coming from sophomore Natalie Stone, classmate Dana Moyer and two from freshman Jill Dozier, but all four where saved by Navy goalkeeper. The Leopards went into halftime down 1-0. Navy found a rhythm in the second half of the game scoring three goals. The first came only two minutes into the half, when Christine Calderon scored into an empty net. The third goal came off a corner kick by Katelyn George who sent it to Shelly Moeller who shot the ball into the middle of the net. The final goal was made in the 86th minute of the game Annie Kendzior, got around the goalie and scored the fourth and final goal of the game for the Mids. The Leopards will head to archrival Lehigh next Saturday to compete in their last game of the regular season at 7 p.m.
