Oct. 7, 2005
LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - A first-half goal by Jennifer Margolis was enough for Bucknell to earn its first Patriot League win of the season, a 1-0 victory over Lafayette on Friday night in Lewisburg. The Bison improved to 7-6-0 on the season, while the Leopards suffered their second 1-0 loss of the year in league action and fell to 1-7-3 overall. The Margolis goal, her tenth of the season, came off a corner kick at 24:25 in the first half and was assisted by Krista Lee Gentile and Leslie Schulz. Bucknell had the bulk of the chances, recording 14 shots to Lafayette's four, and came away with 15 corners. Katie Dry made a single save for the Bison. Lafayette's Mary Kate Erdman was credited with a pair of saves. The match was delayed by a half-hour, with kickoff coming at 7:30 p.m., and was played in a heavy downpour as up to two inches of rain are expected to pelt the East Coast this evening. Lafayette will travel to Hamilton, N.Y. for a 1 p.m. start with defending league champion Colgate on Sunday afternoon.
