LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Krista Lee Gentile scored a pair of goals as Bucknell defeated Lafayette, 3-0, in Patriot League women's soccer action on Saturday.

Gentile, just a freshman, put the Bison in front for good with a goal 15:20 into the match, then netted her second 16:17 into the second half.

The win was Bucknell's (5-4 overall, 1-1 Patriot League) first in league play, while Lafayette (2-6, 0-1) dropped its fourth straight match overall.

Gentile's first goal came off a restart. Caitlin Lanctot put the ball in play to Gentile, who played it off her head and into the net. In the 62nd minute, Gentile found herself in a one-on-one situation with Lafayette freshman keeper Mary Kate Erdman. Erdman came off the line to challenge Gentile, who played the ball past her and finished into an open net.

Caitlyn Kuntz found the back of the net between Gentile's goals. In the 57th minute, Kuntz took a corner kick from the right corner and bent the shot untouched into the left side of the net.

Freshman Alison Hingley had Lafayette's best scoring opportunity of the afternoon. She had a breakaway opportunity on the left side of the field, but her shot skimmed the top of the crossbar and sailed out of bounds.

Katie Dry made two saves for Bucknell in collecting her third shutout of the season. Erdman, making her first collegiate start, collected three saves.

Bucknell held a 10-8 edge in shots and 7-5 advantage in corners for the match.

Lafayette opens a three-match homestand on Monday, hosting Iona in a non-league match at 7 p.m.
