Former Leopard Samantha Ziegler to Join Team as Assistant Coach
Aug. 13, 2007
EASTON, Pa. - Samantha Ziegler '06 is returning to her alma mater and will join the Lafayette Department of Athletics as assistant lacrosse coach.
"I'm excited to have her on the field because I think that intensity that she had on the field as a player comes through in her coaching," said head coach Kathy Frick. "I know she'll pass on a little of that Lafayette tradition to the players."
The former midfielder from Harleysville, Pa., played for the Leopards from 2003-2006, appearing in 63 games over four seasons. She scored 60 goals and 69 points for Lafayette, 32 of the goals coming in her final year.
Ziegler also excelled in the classroom. She was a four-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honoree and made the Dean's list in 2003, 2005 and 2006 on her way to earning a B.S. in Psychology.
Ziegler spent last year as the assistant lacrosse coach at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa. She also served as the head field hockey coach for seventh and eighth graders at Penn Field Middle School in Hatfield, Pa. in the fall of 2006.
The women's lacrosse team will open their spring season on Feb. 27 at Marist.
