Wilhelmsen Selected for Senior All-Star Game
GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Senior Kirsten Wilhelmsen of the Lafayette women's lacrosse team added another notch to her accolades on Friday afternoon after being selected to play in the 2017 Senior All-Star Game.
Forty-four players were selected in each Division, divided into North and South teams of 22 players apiece. The games will be held on Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 3.
The Division I teams will play the first game at 11:30 a.m. and it will be streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com. Wilhelmsen is the lone player from the Patriot League on the north squad, while four fellow league performers, including two each from Loyola and Navy, will play for the south team.
A five-time Patriot League Attacker of the Week this season, Wilhelmsen finished with 203 career goals, the third Lafayette player all-time to score 200 or more. She registered multiple points in every game this season and led the league in four different scoring categories, including goals per game, points per game, shots per game and game-winning goals.
