EASTON, Pa. -
Two Lafayette women's lacrosse players, Addie Godfrey and Ana White, were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Mid-Atlantic Regional Second Team, the organization announced Thursday.
The IWLCA selected four Patriot League players in total, as Navy's Jasmine DePompeo and Colgate's Courtney Miller were also honored in addition to Lafayette's duo. Last season, White was chosen to represent the Maroon and White on the Second Team.
"Receiving regional recognition is one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed on a player," head coach Alison Fisher said. "Addie and Ana have proven that they are among the best in our game and we are very proud to have them represent our program."
In 2012, Godfrey led the Patriot League and ranked eighth nationally, compiling 59 goals in 17 games. She led the squad in total points (68) and converted 16 free-position tallies. The 2009 Patriot League Rookie of the Year was chosen as a First Team All-Patriot League player. The Film and Media Studies major also was recently named Lafayette's Outstanding Lacrosse Athlete by the Lehigh Valley's Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.
White adds her second All-Mid Atlantic Regional Team nod after setting the Patriot League single-season record for draw controls in a season with 113. At the conclusion of the season, White's total ranks second nationally behind Jacksonville's Rachel Hannon, who collected 131 in 19 contests. The sophomore sits second in league history with 202 draw controls for her career, 16 shy of the all-time mark.
White, a Biology major, set career highs in goals (36), assists (20) and points (35). She led the team in assists and ground balls (31), as well as scoring four game-winning goals.
