EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette freshman women's lacrosse player Addie Godfrey (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) became the seventh Leopard in program history to be named Patriot League Rookie of the Year, announced on Wednesday.

Godfrey's Rookie of the Year nod also earned her a spot on the All-League First Team. She is Lafayette's first Rookie of the Year since current assistant coach Kristin Ruminski '09 earned the honor in 2007. Godfrey is also Lafayette's first All-League player since the 2007 season.

The International Affairs major led the team in goals (38), assists (6) and points (44) this season. Her 38 goals place her fourth among all Patriot League players and tops among rookies. She started all 15 games in which she played and netted multiple goals in 11 of those contests. Godfrey also had 19 ground balls, 16 draw controls and one game-winning goal to her credit.

Godfrey recorded two six-point games this spring. She scored five goals and added an assist in the Leopards' 19-10 victory against Manhattan in March and had a career-high six goals in a narrow, 15-14 loss at Sacred Heart earlier this month.

Godfrey was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week twice this spring, most recently on April 19 following an eight-point week that included her six-goal effort at Sacred Heart.
