EASTON, Pa. -
Cammie Linville was one of 12 Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes named to the Academic All-League Team announced by the conference on Tuesday. The team is voted upon by the league’s sports information directors.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
"Cammie is one of our most diligent and hard working student-athletes,” head coach Alison Fisher said. “She has high expectations for herself and invests herself completely in her school work and in our lacrosse team, never allowing one to adversely affect the other. She represents the Patriot League well as she excels in the classroom and on the field.”
The junior midfielder owns a 3.74 cumulative GPA and has been a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection the last two seasons as an Economics and Business major. She started every game in 2012, scored eight goals and added two assists. Linville matched a career-high with 29 ground balls, controlled 10 draws and caused 10 turnovers, which all ranked in the top five on the team.
“She had a very good season this year,” Fisher continued. “Cammie took on more of a defensive responsibility, consistently marking one of the top midfielders on the opposing team. She is an incredibly versatile player who does not always get the recognition she deserves, given how she selflessly fills any role we ask of her."
Linville’s efforts on the field helped Lafayette to a 9-8 overall record, its highest win total since 2002.
