April 23, 2013
EASTON, Pa.- Senior captain Cammie Linville of the Lafayette women's lacrosse team was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team, the League announced Tuesday.
"Cammie is exactly the type of student-athlete that the Patriot League is proud to produce," head coach Alison Fisher said. "She is a fierce competitor, an incredibly intelligent young woman and a dynamic leader who has driven our team to the 2013 postseason."
Linville, a Princeton, N.J. native, filled up the stat sheet while leading Lafayette to its first postseason appearance since 2004. She tallied 12 goals and four assists for 16 points, while picking up 23 ground balls and causing 15 turnovers.
The economics major has posted a 3.76 GPA during her career at Lafayette and has been named to the Academic All-League team for the third consecutive year.
"Cammie is an unsung hero on our team, someone who brings her best to the lacrosse field every day and makes everyone around her better," Fisher added. "Going unrecognized for her efforts many times throughout her career, I am thrilled that the conference has named her to the All-Academic Team for the third straight year and I know she will be very proud of this honor."
Linville and the Leopards will face off against Navy in the Patriot League semifinal on Friday at 5 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.
