The Lafayette women’s lacrosse team closes out the 2014 season Saturday afternoon when they welcome Iona to Fisher Stadium. The Leopards hold a 6-10 record, while the Gaels enter the game 2-11 overall.
Prior to the game, Lafayette will honor its five seniors: Lindsay Yang, Ana White, Meghan Curtin, Rachel Martin and Laura Kleiber. Yang has appeared in 43 games, making 20 starts netting one goal and collecting 27 ground balls and forcing 7 turnovers. White has been one of the top players in school history starting all 67 games in her career, tallying 215 points on 144 goals and 71 assists, the Swarthmore, Pa. native holds the Patriot League career draw control record with 392. Martin has been a steady defender for the Maroon and White starting 57 games, corralling 104 ground balls and forcing 65 turnovers. Kleiber has been responsible for 110 goals and 20 assists in her 63 games, scooping 78 ground balls and causing 45 turnovers.
Last Time Out
The Maroon and White fell to Colgate 18-17 in a triple overtime thriller that eliminated them from playoff contention. Kirsten Wilhelmsen netted four goals, while Kleiber and White each registered a hat trick. Carlianne McCabe, Amanda Case, Charlotte Avallone, Kristen Mignon, and Katie Elander all scored in the contest. White completed a seven-point day with four assists.
Scouting the Gaels
Meghan Testoni leads the team with 26 points, scoring 18 goals and handing out eight assists. Erin Pugh has a team-high 19 goals, while Mary Kate McCormick has a team-best 11 assists. Defensively, Angela Grous has caused 14 turnovers, while Testoni has forced a dozen. Grous and Maria Ortiz sit atop the ground ball department with 25 apiece. Ortiz has appeared in every game between the pipes earning a 12.81 goals-against average and .459 save percentage.
Lafayette alum Alison Fisher leads the Leopards in her sixth season. She is 32-69 in her career. Michelle Mason is in her fifth season at the head of Iona. The Keene State grad has a 49-77 mark, including two seasons at her alma mater.

The Leopards and Gaels have split their two previous meeting.
Leopards on the Attack
Kleiber’s 49 points on 42 goals and 7 assists fuels the Maroon and White attack. White has pitched in 33 goals and a team-leading 14 helpers. Freshmen Wilhelmsen (31 goals, four assists) and Case (23 goals, two assists) along with sophomore Avallone (20 goals, three assists) round out the Leopards who have tallied double-digit goals.
White has been a key two-way player as she has corralled 34 ground balls and forced 40 turnovers to lead the team in both areas. Curtin and Charlotte Rath have each scooped 25 ground balls, with Martin right behind with 24. Rath and Kleiber have caused 16 turnovers, with Wilhelmsen and Case adding 15 caused turnovers apiece.
Between the Pipes
Curtin has played every minute between the pipes for the Leopards this season. She holds a 10.64 goals-against average and a .351 save percentage.
Around the League
Loyola, Navy, Boston U, Lehigh and Colgate have all clinched a spot in the Patriot League tournament. Bucknell and Holy Cross are vying for the last position.
