EASTON, Pa. - In what is a sign of good things to come for the Lafayette women's lacrosse program, freshman Addie Godfrey (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The award is the first weekly honor of the season for the Leopards, who split a pair of games last week.

Godfrey netted seven goals to go along with two assists for a nine-point week. She scored a team-high four goals in a 13-11 win at Columbia while also adding an assist before closing out the week with a hat trick and an assist against Patriot League opponent Colgate.

The International Affairs major has started all 14 games this season and leads the team with 30 goals. Along with her six assists, has a team-leading 36 points, 11 more than the next closest player on the Leopards. Godfrey also leads Lafayette with 67 shots, an impressive 57 of which have been on goal, and eight free position goals.

Godfrey is one of three freshmen on the squad who have at least 10 goals to their name. Cammie Linville has 10 goals and three assists while Victoria Maxon has also chipped in 10 goals. Godfrey is the only freshman on the team to start all 14 games this spring.

Lafayette (3-11, 1-4) has won three of its previous five games. The Leopards close out the 2010 season with three games on the road, beginning with a 4 p.m. game at Sacred Heart on Wednesday.
