EASTON, Pa. – Senior attack Addie Godfrey and junior midfielder Ana White earned Patriot League Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Week honors, respectively, the League announced Monday.
“We are very excited that both Addie and Ana have been recognized this week by the conference,” head coach Alison Fisher said. “Their play through the first five games is definitely one of the reasons that our spring is off to such a good start. They are both incredibly committed to our team's success and its nice for them to be rewarded for their individual efforts.”
Godfrey set a new career-high with seven goals in the 16-9 win over Columbia on Feb. 27 and backed it up with her third six-goal performance of the season in Lafayette’s first loss of the year, a 15-12 setback at Temple. The Princeton, N.J. native has tallied 27 goals on the year and leads the Patriot League in goals per game with 5.4 per contest.
Godfrey, an All-Patriot League First-Team selection a year ago, added an assist against Temple and picked up three groundballs and three draw controls in the two games combined.
Hailing from Swarthmore, Pa., White earns her first weekly award of the season after recording four goals and two assists in the win over Columbia and adding three more tallies in the loss to Temple. White continued to excel in the draw control department, picking up 10 against Columbia and four versus Temple.
White, also a member of the All-Patriot League First Team in 2012, is the Patriot League career record holder for draw controls with 230 over her three seasons on College Hill. She currently leads the League in draw controls, picking up 5.6 per game.
The Maroon and White are back in action tomorrow evening inside Fisher Stadium as they take on Monmouth as part of a lacrosse doubleheader. The men’s team will match up with Delaware at 4 p.m. and the women are set to begin at 7 p.m.
