Annapolis, Md. - Ana White and Kirsten Wilhelmsen each scored a pair of goals for the Leopards, but it wasn't enough as No. 20/13 Navy beat Lafayette 11-5 in Patriot League women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

The Leopards moved to 0-1 in the league and 3-3 overall, snapping a three-game winning streak, while the Mids improved to 7-0 and 1-0 in the Patriot League. White led the Leopards with three ground balls, followed by Rachel Martin and Carlianne McCabe with two apiece. Navy's Aimee Gennaro powered the Mids with three goals.   

The Mids scored the first three goals of the game to build a 3-0 lead 12 minutes into the game. Laura Kleiber tallied her 16th goal of the season six minutes later to pull the Leopards within two. Charlotte Avallone fired a shot with five minutes left in the half that rang off the goal post, but Lafayette went into the half trailing 3-1.

The Leopards came out of the break flying, as Wilhelmsen beat a couple of Navy defenders and found the back of the net with 28:43 to play. The Mids countered with a pair of goals at 26:58 and 25:20 to take a 5-2 advantage.

After another Navy goal, Wilhelmsen buried a free position shot to make it a 6-3 deficit with 20 minutes left in the game. The Mids answered back three minutes later to increase their lead to four.

Trailing 9-3, White took advantage of a free position shot, netting her 11th goal of the season with 6:30 to play. The Mids answered right away as Loren Generi scored with 6:09 on the clock to increase the Navy lead to six, 10-4. White tallied again for the Leopards with five minutes to play, but the Mids held on for an 11-5 win.

The Leopards are back in action on Wednesday when they host Bryant at 5 p.m.
