Andersen Honored by Longstreth/NFHCA

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette junior goalkeeper Kelsey Andersen was named to the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American Third Team on Monday afternoon.

Andersen, who last week was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Mideast All-Region First Field Hockey Teams also picked up Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors and was named to the All-Patriot League First Team. She was a recipient of three weekly conference honors this season as Goalkeeper of the Week (9/8, 9/21, 10/26).

A key component to the Leopards defense, Andersen led the league in goals-against average (0.85), fewest goals allowed (16), save percentage (.795) and shutouts (8). Andersen moved up in the national rankings and finished fifth in the nation for goals-against average and 15th in save percentage.
