Stone Adds Five to Class of 2022 During Early Signing Period

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey head coach Jennifer Stone announced the addition of five student-athletes to her recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.

The current makeup of the class features three student-athletes from New Jersey, one from Pennsylvania and on from Maryland.

“Across the board, all these players are fully committed to the program and are excited about the future,” said head coach Jennifer Stone. “I am very happy to welcome the five of them to the Lafayette family and can’t wait to see what the future holds for these players.”

Hailey Abbott hails from Malaga, N.J. and was a four-year starter at goalkeeper at Delsea Regional. The 5-5 keeper guided her team to back-to-back Tri County Championships in 2016 and 2017. For her career, she has 49 shutouts and is a three-time Tri-County All Star. In 2015, Abbott was a member of the U.S. U-17 national team and followed that up with a selection to the U-19 squad in 2016.

Alix Talkow, a North Caldwell, N.J. native, will bring a scorer’s touch to College Hill next season. The three-year starter at Montclair Kimberly Academy has 27 career goals and 17 assists and led the team in both categories last season. The versatile 5-0 forward guided Montclair to MKAFH Prep B Championships in 2015 and 2017. Talkow was selected for the AAU Junior Olympics in 2016.

Madeline Mayuga is another skilled addition to the Leopards midfield will bring versatility as a defender. The Upper Marlboro, Md. Native was a four year-starter at Elizabeth Seton High School and captained the team in 2017. She is a two-time WCAC honoree, earning both First-Team and Second-Team Offense honors. The 5-4 forward played club with the Spark Field Hockey Club.

Molly McAndrew brings offensive skill to the midfield, having 46 goals and 18 assists to her name in two years as a starter at Paul VI High School. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native was a two-year captain for the squad and was a First-Team All-Conference honoree during her junior and senior seasons. With her club team, the WC Eagles, McAndrew won a gold medal at the Disney Showcase and the NCC U-16 championship.

Mary Gould brings added depth to the Leopards midfield and backline. She was a four-year starter for Avon Grove High School, captaining the team in 2017. The Lincoln University, Pa. native was a steady presence, earning All-Chesmont honors every year, including a first-team nod in 2017. Gould played club with XCalibur Field Hockey Club and helped guide the team to a U-16 Pool A National Indoor Championship in 2016.
