EASTON, Pa. – Junior Kelsey Mead was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, the League announced Monday afternoon. The midfielder helped the Leopards lock up the final spot in the Patriot League Tournament with a win over Colgate on Saturday.
“I'm very happy for Kelsey that she was recognized by the League for her performance this past week.” head coach Jennifer Stone said. “She has been a consistent contributor for us all year, and has provided the team with a lot of quality attacking opportunities. Her speed and athleticism make her very dangerous for opponents. This is well deserved for Kelsey.”
The Manasquan, N.J. native was a key contributor in Saturday’s 4-3 win over the Raiders. Mead tied the score early in the second half with her fourth goal of the season. The junior assisted on the Leopards next two goals to help Lafayette claim the final spot in the Patriot League Tournament.
Mead and the Leopards travel to Boston University on Nov. 2 for the final game of the regular season. The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 8-9 in Washington, D.C.
